Hello!
Today we left our house in Djúpivogur behind and drove to the next town, (Seyðisfjörður) stopping along the way for some cool stuff that we found close to our route. The first of said things was a museum, called Breiðdalsetur research and heritage centre, that had some really cool stuff, such as a volcanic rock exhibit
I had hoped that the boat tour to Papey Island would be running today, but I was a few days early, as they will start on June 1st. Instead, we spent the day exploring Djúpivogur. There are two different “handcraft” artists in town, and both are men with interesting stories and crafts. First we went to JFS handcraft:

Today we left for our new house, leaving our house in Höfn behind. We drove for about an hour

Today, we spent a lot of time driving and only some of that time doing things, which is unfortunately true of a lot of parts of Iceland! We’re still staying in Höfn, but we drove for over an hour to get to the Fjallsárlón glacier lagoon (a lake left behind by melting pieces of glacier ice).
After yesterday’s long (for us) car ride, we spent today in and around Höfn. We explored the town a little, and found um, those boots above. As well as the Gamlabúð Folk Museum, which is attached to the Visitor’s Center by the harbor. It’s a small 2 story museum, but it’s free! [Read more…] about Wednesday, May 25 Update
Today was a travel day, as we drove from Vik to Höfn. But we still had time to squeeze in a few stops. First was Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon. There, I managed to hike up the hill only to realize that I forgot to put the memory card back in my camera. Fortunately, my cell phone did an admirable job:
