We spent the summer of 2016 touring Iceland. Now we're writing a guidebook to tell you exactly what you want to know:

How to take the whole family abroad and survive the process unscathed.

About us

Iceland_128This is us seven years ago on our first trip to Iceland.

We very much enjoyed our first trip, though it was just a few days long.

On that first trip, not only was Lora six months pregnant, but Eric was on crutches from having a pin put in his hip a couple of months earlier.  If we can do the trip pregnant, on crutches, with three children ages 3, 5, and 7, and still have fun, you can do it, too!  We decided to seize the opportunity afforded by Eric’s sabbatical to take our now larger family on an extended tour of Iceland this summer.  We managed to avoid the crutches and the pregnancy this time, but we traveled with our new baby (3 months old when we arrived!) in addition to our four older children (traditional Icelandic names as pseudonyms for privacy):  Magnus, 7; Hulda, 10; Carl, 12; and Blaer, 14.

We spent the first half of our trip travelling around Ring Road and experiencing all of the points of interest we could make it to, so we could let our readers know which ones we think are worth a look.  In the second half of the trip, we settled down near Reykjavik and explored the more urban tourist attractions.

Please explore the information posted on our site, and stay tuned for our book, which should be on Amazon this December!
