Saturday, June 4 update
Reindeer were brought to east Iceland from Norway in the 1780s. Some were placed in other areas of Iceland, but only the herds in the east survived. Today, we went on a reindeer safari. Of course, when you’re in a superjeep, a river crossing is mandatory:

Hello! Today we drove around Lagarfljót (a lake) and tried to find Lagarfljótsormur, which is a giant wyrm that supposedly lives in the lake.

Monday, May 30 update
We spent much of the day in the lovely Seyðisfjörður. First stop was a short walk to the Skaftfell museum, where we saw an exhibit that was just about to be taken down. It was called “Frontiers of Solitude.” Presumably there will be a new exhibit for the summer.
