The Blue Lagoon- visiting with kids

August 13, 2016 by Eric

The Blue Lagoon was one of the last places we visited in Iceland. By that time, we’d already been to many pools and spas all over the country. And the Blue Lagoon is much more expensive than any other pool or spa in Iceland. So let’s just say that the bar was set pretty high …

Thursday, August 4 update, Part 2: Mt. Esja and Mosfellsbær

August 13, 2016 by Eric

The city of Reykjavik seems to be guarded by Mt. Esja. The mountain is visible from most parts of the city: Esja is about a 25 minute drive from Reykjavik, and has a complex hiking trail system that should appeal to almost any difficulty level you are looking for.

Monday, August 1 update, part 1: Viðey Island

August 8, 2016 by Eric

In our quest to visit as many museums in Reykjavik as we can, this morning we took the short boat ride to Viðey Island. It seems strange to call an island a museum, but it is indeed one of the Reykjavik City Museums.
