Hello,
Can you please help with itinerary for a 10 days in Iceland in August.
I’m not sure where to start but from what I read we want to visit these spots:
-as much hot springs as possible. We love it a lot and big fans of it! We definitely want to go to Blue Lagoon, Sky Lagoon, Hvammsvik Hot Springs and maybe some more. Also I’m trying to find hotels with hot springs as well.
-Definitely want to visit Golden Ring. Is it possible to do that from city center and get back there?
-Westman island. Is it possible to go there in the morning and come back evening?
-Vik and south and south east.
-Akureyri and Huslavik. Whale watch from there
We would like to have max 2-3 bases and ready to drive a little bit more or don’t drive somewhere if it’s too far and focus on one area. We plan to be back. So definitely don’t have to rush to cover everything. We really want to enjoy, have some great hot springs experience and explore.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Hi! Most of this is doable with a couple of exceptions:
– Sky Lagoon has a minimum age of 12, and I think Hvammsvik has a minimum age of 10. But there are lots of other places to swim, including local town thermal pools.
– Getting up to Akureyri would probably mean flying up there, unless you’re okay with a 5 hour drive each way. You may want to skip the trip up north and do whale watching somewhere else?
– Yes, you can visit the Westman Islands as a day trip!
