Sunday, May 29 update

May 29, 2016 by Carl

Hello!

Today we left our house in Djúpivogur behind and drove to the next town, (Seyðisfjörður) stopping along the way for some cool stuff that we found close to our route. The first of said things was a museum, called Breiðdalsetur  research and heritage centre, that had some really cool stuff, such as a volcanic rock exhibit

and a linguistics exhibit. After we went to the museum, we ate lunch and then found out that the town that the museum was in had a model to-scale solar system

IMGP1606

that spanned about 2-2.5 km. After we finished seeing the solar system, we stopped at a waterfall and took a hike.

After the hike, we went to Petra’s stone collection which was a garden full of rocks

that Petra had collected. After that, we drove through a snowy mountain range

and then after a few more minutes we got to Seyðisfjörður, the town that we were going to stay in. We went to our apartment, and shortly after went to a fancy sushi place for supper. Tomorrow we are going to leave for Egilsstaðir, where we will stay for a week.
